We will tour the Reddick Mansion,
the Appellate Court, Washington Square (where Lincoln
and Douglas held their first debate), & learn the
history of Ottawa & LaSalle County and the I&M Canal as depicted in the
beautiful Murals through out the downtown.
We then
head to Streator to visit a unique Tudor Cottage and
beautiful English Gardens.
Ted Weber, a Chicago radio talk show
host from the 60's will show you where two TV
personalities
slept under the bed, tell you about an invisible
guest who left his walking stick and many more
interesting, true stories.

Our first stop is at the Waterway Visitors Center where you
will see Bald Eagles, Pelicans and other birds soaring over head
or
feeding in the river below the Starved Rock Lock & Dam.
We then go to the Starved Rock State Park where you can
enjoy a relaxing lunch at the impressive Starved Rock
Lodge or hike the many different trails (over 13 miles
in total). We'll also
stop at the Visitors Center located along the Illinois
river and see a short film about how this area was
formed.
Leaving the Park, we travel to Cattails Gift Shop and
you can partake in wine tasting provided by several area
wineries. You may want to pick up a special bottle to
take back with you for a cozy evening!

Capone's Cornfields to be exact !!!
Bring your shovel and bulletproof vest as we dig into
the areas
shady
past and learn how the "Mob" played a big part with
local Bootleggers and Betting Barons. Dan Churney,
author of the book "Capone's Cornfields", will inform
and entertain you with his stories and tales as we drive
through the countryside in search of history!
